Dot is walking in this year’s Manx Telecom parish Walk on behalf of Pobble. Dot is an experienced walker and a regular competitor in this event.
Dot is a Manx Speaker and teacher of preschool children with Mooinjer Veggey who provide two nurseries, a Possan Cloie (playgroup), and the Bunscoill. Watch Dot speaking about her work in both Manx and English at YouTube
The popular Annual Manx Telecom Parish Walk is an 85 mile walk around each of the 17 parishes of the Isle of Man. Competitors can walk all or part of the course. Dot successfully completed the course in 2015. In 2018 Dot reached Kirk Michael in 9 hours and 40 seconds. This year 2019 Dot is aiming to complete half the course, finishing at Peel, a distance of 32.5 miles. Naturally, Dot aims to maintain and improve her own performance and we hope that Pobble sponsorship will help Dot to achieve her personal aims.
Funds raised by Pobble will be used to assist Mooinjer Veggey to help children to learn a ‘bit beg Gaelg’ at preschool and school.
